What does it consist of?
The marriage deed is the process by which two persons, whether of the same or different sex, unite in marriage before a Notary, freely and voluntarily expressing their consent.
After being signed before the Notary, the marriage deed must be registered with the Civil Registry.
The marriage file must be processed in the locality of residence registration of one of the parties, and the notary will assign the notarial association of the area according to a rotational schedule.
On the other hand, the celebration of the marriage can be conducted by any competent notary in the place where the wedding takes place. This means that a notary from Murcia cannot celebrate a marriage in Albacete.
